Four J-School alums have segments airing this Sunday, January 5 on NBC’s ”Dateline” starting at 7:00pm EST/6:00pm CST.
Marjorie McAfee (’06) co-produced “Breathless,” a two-year investigation into the connection between poverty and childhood asthma. Alissa Figueroa (“÷11) worked as a news associate on the project.
Tommy Nguyen (’05) produced “Second Chances”, a yearlong look at four bullied teenagers who say they’ve been picked on because of their looks and believe cosmetic surgery will change their lives “Ó though none can afford elective surgeries. Dateline follows the teens as they applied for help from a non-profit organization. The segment was field produced by Toni DeAztlan (’07). A preview of the broadcast aired on The Today Show, Friday, January 3.
