News21 Reporter J.J. Barrow (Class of 2012) and the Florida Center for Investigative Reporting on Sunday reported how the U.S. Postal Service has refused to look into the case of a Florida postal worker who became
seriously ill after handling a leaking package from Yemen.
Barrow and FCIR Associate Director Trevor Aaronson, who was a 2010-11 Investigative Reporting Program fellow, described how Jeffrey Lill suffers from extreme fatigue, tremors, and liver and neurological problems
consistent with toxic exposure. Lill said his problems began after he handled the parcel from Yemen on Feb. 4, 2011, while working in Orlando. Two whistleblowers confirmed in detail Lill’s recounting of what occurred.
