Yasmin Rafiei
Yasmin Rafiei is a Reporter-in-Residence at the Investigative Reporting Program. She is also an M.D. candidate at Stanford University. Her journalism focuses on health care reform. Rafiei’s latest investigation, on private equity-owned nursing homes, was published in The New Yorker. She has also been published in The Guardian, Foreign Policy, The Globe & Mail and The New England Journal of Medicine, among others. Her work is informed by experience in health policy. Rafiei has worked as an advisor to Canada’s COVID Task Force; an analyst at Chatham House, a global affairs think tank; and she’s completed graduate studies in politics, philosophy, and economics at Oxford University, where she was a Rhodes Scholar.
