Nigel Manuel

Nigel Manuel was born and raised in Jackson, TN. He graduated from Madison Academic Magnet High School in 2008 and graduated from Union University with a Bachelor of Arts in Media Communications and a minor in Computer Science.

While at Union, Nigel worked on the television show “Jackson 24-7,” a local news television show. There, he held multiple positions from director and technical director to producer and audio operator. He also interned at Jackson’s NewsTalk 101.5FM. During his senior year, he obtained an internship at CNN in Washington D.C.

After graduation, Nigel returned to NewsTalk 101.5FM as a Digital News Producer. There, he wrote articles, photographed events, wrote and produced daily newscasts, and covered multiple elections across the West Tennessee area.

He has made three films and two documentaries. He has also created multiple commercials for both television and internet distribution.

In addition to his multimedia work, Nigel also owns a restaurant. Soup Du Jour, located in downtown Jackson, TN, is a soup, salad, and sandwich restaurant with the motto, “Nothing Fried Inside.” At Soup Du Jour, Nigel has organized multiple jazz festivals and concerts and a ten week “Dinner & A Movie” outdoor film series during the summers of 2012 and 2013.
