Misyrlena Egkolfopoulou

Born and raised in Athens, Greece, Misyrlena started her career in journalism as an intern for CNN International in Hong Kong and later for Al Jazeera English in Washington, DC. After working for ABC News in the US capital, Misyrlena moved back to Athens to work as a TV reporter. There’s nothing like the adrenaline of LIVE TV! Her coverage has focused on the Greek financial crisis, the refugee crisis and Europe’s war on terror. At UC Berkeley, Misyrlena is learning about how New Media is shaping the future of journalism. In the summer of 2017, Misyrlena interned with Bloomberg News and covered Martin Shkreli’s criminal fraud trial. That was a lot of fun.
