Melissa Perez Winder
Melissa Perez Winder is a journalist and filmmaker based in Oakland, California, who documents individual people’s stories amidst larger American political themes. Most recently, Melissa was one of eight international recipients of Getty Images’ 2022 Annual Inclusion Grant and her short documentary Tender Exchange was selected to be part of SF’s 2022 Annual Latino Film Festival. She completed her Master’s degree in Video Journalism at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism in 2022 and her Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from UC Berkeley in 2016.
