Mathew Miranda
Mathew is a journalist and photographer, most interested in investigative reporting, audio producing and environmental issues. He is recent graduate from California State University, Chico and spent the last year working as a reporter for the Chico Enterprise-Record.
A proud community college graduate, Mathew has reported for seven publications over the last five years. At the Chico Enterprise-Record, he authored investigative stories on the lack of personal protective equipment for nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic and covered breaking news across Northern California.
In his last year at Chico State, Mathew interned at the university’s sports information office and wrote profile pieces on student athletes from 13 different programs. He also worked as a news editor and staff writer for three semesters at The Orion, an award-winning college newspaper. While covering the campus, he oversaw an entire news staff, copyedited stories daily and contributed to the publication’s extensive coverage of California’s deadliest fire.
When not reporting or watching sports, Mathew enjoys exploring Northern California’s backcountry, running the hills of Berkeley, and having long conversations with his grandmother.
