Jiyun Tsai
Jiyun Tsai is a multimedia journalist from Taipei, Taiwan. She has previously interned at Public Television Service and Academia Sinica in Taiwan. Throughout her undergraduate program majoring in sociology, she has developed quantitative and qualitative social research skills and has participated in several introductory journalistic classes. She has accumulated various journalistic experiences featuring local policies, anti-demolition movements, and diplomatic rifts in Taiwan. After graduating from National Taiwan University in 2019, she worked as an associate producer at the Public Television Service English News Program, a thirteen-minute daily news broadcast, and a research assistant at the College of Social Sciences, National Taiwan University. At J-School, she would be pursuing multimedia journalism with a concentration in data journalism. She is interested in interactive and data-driven storytelling as well as photography and filming. Jiyun speaks English, Mandarin Chinese, Taiwanese, and Korean. Her work has appeared in SF Standard, Oakland North, and Oaklandside in the US, Storm Media, and Public Television Service in Taiwan.
