Jenna Hards

Class of 2024

Howdy,

My name is Jenna Hards (23, she/her), I am a passionate writer, videographer, podcaster and ABBA listener. I was born in upstate New York before moving to Florida when I was four and now for the past twelve years I have been living in East Bay California.

I recently graduated from UC Santa Cruz after three years in their film program as well as working for the paper located at their campus, City on a Hill Press as a video editor and leader. Over the pandemic I began doing freelance work for companies and news outlets across the country. I also headed up UCSC’s podcast during this time, which is appropriately named Slugcast. Currently I am working at San Francisco’s local news station, ABC7 and as a reporter for the Pacifica Tribune.

When I’m not working or studying I love to read, explore local coffee shops, play the saxophone, surf and walk on the beach.

My passion for journalism lies in the opportunity to help people tell their stories, learning about the communities I serve and meeting great people. I have many mentors, friends and of course my parents to thank for their continued support as I start this new journey at UC Berkeley.
