Emily is freelance reporter and currently studies documentary filmmaking at UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. She seeks out stories on human rights issues, the future of technology in crime fighting, social justice and government surveillance. Prior to UC Berkeley, she was a news editor for The Huffington Post where she covered breaking news, digital trends, women’s issues and social impact stories. Most recently she was a senior journalist for Storyful, the world’s first social media verification news agency, verifying UGC, acquiring clearances and licenses for top publishers around the globe. Her writing and multimedia work has appeared in VICE, Esquire.com, The Huffington Post, Yahoo! and PBS.
