Carly Nairn

Carly cut her teeth in reporting at Portland State University, first as a news reporter, then theatre critic, then Opinion pages editor, for the student newspaper The Daily Vanguard.

After several unpaid internships and a brief stint at a rural daily in the Northwest, she landed in U.C. Berkeley’s graduate journalism program.

She has a deep and abiding love for the written word, and more recently, radio. She prefers reporting stories with strong investigative elements.

Carly is from Modesto, California, where the taco trucks rival the best Mexican places in the Mission District.
