Alexandra Garreton
Alexandra Garretí_n is a journalist born and raised in Southern California. She is fluent in English and Spanish, which served her well while reporting for the Argentina Independent in Buenos Aires, Argentina and at the Univision assignment desk in Los Angeles. Since graduating from the University of Washington with a bachelor’s degree in journalism Alexandra has worked in print, radio and television. She has written for several community newspapers in Seattle, Washington including Real Change and the South Seattle Beacon. She also worked as a news writer and associate producer for Seattle’s CBS affiliate, KIRO-TV. Alexandra’s passion for radio journalism flourished during a news internship at public radio station KPCC in Los Angeles. She followed that up at KUOW in Seattle as a production intern for a daily news talk show called Weekday. Alexandra is now living in San Francisco and pursuing her master’s degree in journalism at UC Berkeley.
