Alexandra DeFazio

Ali is in her second year at the J-School, specializing in new media. She worked as a research assistant at the Investigative Reporting Program, and helped publish a groundbreaking report on criminal police officers in California. Ali also covered City Hall and a city election for Oakland North.

Before the J-School, Ali was a fact-checker and contributor to San Francisco magazine where she wrote stories on everything from repairs at the Oroville Dam to a snowman at the SF MoMA. She was editor in chief of her student newspaper, the San Francisco Foghorn. She started the award winning podcast, Trump 101. She graduated as the Valedictorian from the University of San Francisco.
