This course will delve into how to report accurate and sensitive stories when covering trans communities. Issues around trans rights have become a partisan flashpoint and are often weaponized for political gain. With only about a quarter of people in the U.S. saying they have a close friend or family member who is out as trans, the coverage our students will provide after they graduate will be essential for the public to better understand how the public thinks and talks about transgender people.
