JoEllen Anderson
JoEllen Anderson specializes in Tribal Histories, Indigenous Politics, Education, Film & Literature. She received her Ph.D in Sociology from Stanford University and B.S in Sociology from Oregon State University.
She has been teaching at Stanford’s Center for Comparative Studies in Race & Ethnicity since 2003 and has also taught at UC Berkeley’s Ethnic Studies & Sociology Departments since 2004. Prior to Stanford & Berkeley, she taught at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in Sociology.
Recent courses include: History of California Indians, History of Native Americans in the Southwest, Native Americans & the Cinema & Education.
