Shaina Shealy
Born and raised in Birmingham, AL, Shaina has produced radio, text, video and photography stories addressing identity and conflict transformation from Gaza City to Oakland. She has over five years of experience working on social justice and diversity programming for high school youth and served as a trained facilitator for the Berkeley School of Journalism Equity and Inclusion Committee. She studied International Affairs and Fine Art at George Washington University (2010) and has an MA in Islamic and Middle East Studies from Hebrew University in Jerusalem (2014). Shaina studied new media journalism, Arabic language and the Middle East at UC Berkeley (2016). Shaina’s work has been featured on Public Radio International, National Public Radio and Haaretz. She’s currently based in Alabama.
