Levi Bridges is a journalist and audio producer focusing on immigration and labor formerly based in Mexico City. He is currently working on a book about Mexican migrants recruited to work in the U.S. traveling carnival industry, an experience he shared as an undercover reporter. His work has appeared in The Washington Post, The Associated Press, in Spanish on Radio Ambulante and been honored with support from The Fulbright Program, Overseas Press Club and The Tinker Foundation. He currently studies radio and investigative reporting at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism as a Guy P. Gannet Fellow and is also a Foreign Language and Areas Studies (FLAS) Fellow in Slavic Studies. Highlights from his career include traveling the North Korean-Russian border region, a season living in a labor camp with undocumented workers on a New York apple farm and a 10,000-mile bicycle trip across the former Soviet Union. His childhood was spent on an organic farm in Maine where five previous generations of his family also grew up. He speaks Spanish and Russian.
