Jeff Weisinger
Jeff Weisinger is a first-year sports journalist at the Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. He’s held numerous roles throughout his journalistic career, including featured columnist, senior editor and Editor-in-Chief. He’s been featured in various sports websites like Bleacher Report, Elite Sports NY and, most recently, SBI Soccer.
He completed his B.A. in English-Creative Writing at The City College of New York (CUNY) in New York, NY and his A.A. in Liberal Arts at Ohlone College in Fremont, CA. At both colleges, he worked on the student publications where he was the sports editor and, eventually, the Editor-in-Chief (Ohlone Monitor) and the senior editor (CCNY’s The Campus).
At CCNY, he created the college’s first-ever independent sports media entity, titled “Beaverbeat” which covered the school’s athletics program. The brand launched as a website and then became a print magazine, another first for the school.
Professionally, he’s covered numerous professional teams for both small blogs and newspapers and is currently credentialed for the San Jose Earthquakes of Major League Soccer.
