I advise students on documentary editing and story structure at Berkeley Journalism. I am also the senior editor at Citizen Film, an SF-based non-profit that collaborates with cultural institutions, community organizations and independent producers to create films and online media that foster active engagement in civic life. With over 20 years of professional experience, I have edited films showcased by National Geographic, Smithsonian Channel, New York Times, Current TV, PBS, and HBO, among others. My work has received two national Emmy Award nominations, an Overseas Press Club Award, and the duPont-Columbia Award. Notable recent projects include Prognosis: Notes on Living, the documentary memoir of pioneering LGBT+ filmmaker Debra Chasnoff, and the PBS Special American Creed, about activists and educators who are bridging divides in our country.
