Marta Franco
After a few years working as a staff reporter in the Spanish newspaper El Perií_dico de Aragí_n, Marta decided it was time to take on new challenges. She was awarded a “la Caixa” Foundation fellowship and moved to San Francisco to get into new media in depth, learn photography and video skills and improve her English writing at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism.
What she likes the most about working as a journalist is having the chance to learn new things and meet different people every day. She has reported on local politics, environmental issues, small businesses and crime, among other subjects.
She was part of the original team that launched CNET en Espaí±ol, where she still works.
She speaks Spanish, German and French. In her free time she can be found reading, watching movies and documentaries, or just enjoying a good meal, an interesting conversation or a sunny walk around the Mission.
