Linnea Edmeier, MJOUR’10, is a broadcast media professional whose expertise is building dynamic teams and high profile operations from scratch. She most recently oversaw production operations and managed the technical team at ESPN’s broadcast facility in Las Vegas. On the content side, she has led public and commercial radio news teams (Capital Public Radio and ABC/KGO News) and been honored with multiple awards across documentary, digital, print and radio. Linnea’s journalism career includes freelance work as a correspondent and photo editor. She is active with networking groups such as Public Media Women in Leadership, Brown Girls Doc Mafia and Public Media Journalists Association (PMJA), where she is an active part of an editor corp that serves public media nationwide. Linnea also serves as a judge for PMJA’s annual awards. Linnea is a proud member of the J-School’s 2010 graduating class and has been a J-School applicant reviewer and panel speaker for many years. Prior to journalism, she was a Fire Captain with CALFIRE. Linnea is a lifelong athlete, explorer and storyteller of the human experience.
