Jon Phillips
Jon Phillips joined the School of Journalism in 2022 and has been a staff member at Berkeley since 2017. Prior to his current role, he has worked in a variety of positions at Berkeley, including as Director of HR & Academic Personnel, Assistant Director of Graduate Student Services for the Math Department, and as an Undergraduate Advisor for the College of Letters & Science. Jon has served on several impactful committees and programs across campus and with a focus on building community among staff and championing DEIBJ. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the Chancellor’s Staff Advisory Committee where he advises the Chancellor and her cabinet on key issues that impact staff. In addition to this hands-on experience at all levels at UC Berkeley, Jon has studied higher education administration while earning his master’s degree at Harvard.
