Greta Mart
Greta Mart, MJOUR’15, is currently news director at KRCB, Sonoma County’s NPR station, building a new radio newsroom from the ground up as Northern California Public Media expands its broadcast signal and local news coverage. Her work regularly airs on NPR and KQED’s The California Report and from 2016 to 2021, she was the news director at NPR-member station KCBX in San Luis Obispo, California. In 2015, Greta earned a master’s from the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. During the two-year program, pivoting from being a longtime print reporter to broadcast radio news reporting, she spent the summers of 2014 and 2015 working in Sitka and Haines, Alaska, respectively. She also spent a year as acting news director/reporter at KUCB in Unalaska, Alaska, covering the Aleutian Islands. Greta earned a BA from the University of Massachusetts at Boston, studied history at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland and when working in the Bay Area, lives aboard her 30’ sailboat berthed at the Berkeley Marina.
