Being a youth liaison and peer mentor at a young age for a non-profit organization called Project Action, I have worked hard building authentic relationships with local youth, community leaders, and faith based organizations of San Bernardino County. I have regularly mentored youth who live in poverty, reside in gang and drug infested neighborhoods, and come from broken homes. Because of these experiences, it has shaped and molded me into an inquisitive, outgoing, analytical people person; yet most importantly, a Journalist.
Like most ‘News Junkies’ I spend most of my time watching it, reading blogs and surfing through news websites. Ultimately in my career I aspire to become a Foreign Correspondent, with a focus in Latin America. Aside from Illegal Immigration and Drug Cartels, I feel there are so many issues and stories that are left untold. Therefore, I believe I can help make a difference by becoming a voice for so many who are voiceless.
