Francisco Gonzalez

Polyglot, eager to learn Swiss journalist with print experience, knowledge in radio and web formats.

I was born in Guatemala in April 1989, and moved to Geneva, Switzerland, aged 9. I was really close to the French border, so I attended the French sate-school system, where I graduated in 2007 with a specialism in Economics. That same year, I started a BA in International Relations at the University of Sussex (Brighton, England), graduating in July 2010.

In September 2011, I started my MA in journalism in the Erasmus Mundus program – a two year program starting with one year at the University of Aarhus (Denmark) and a second year specialism in financial journalism at London’s City University -, where I got this awesome opportunity to come the Graduate School of Journalism in Berkeley.

Journalism came to me as a calling, mixed to my sincere interest in serving the communities I live with. I see it as a tool to serve the public’s best interests, providing them with crucial information to make difficult and significant choices.
