Daniel Ekonde
Ekonde Daniel known as Daniel Ekonde for journalistic purposes, is a Cameroonian journalist pursuing master’s at the Graduate School of Journalism, University of California, Berkeley. Daniel got his undergraduate degree in journalism from the University of Buea, Cameroon, in 2018. Since then, he has worked across radio, TV and text. His career highlights include freelance publishing with Global Voices, The Continent, CNN, New Frame News, Quartz Africa and Aljazeera where he covered the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations for the media’s online platform; and the Cameroon Radio Television (CRTV) where he worked as a sports reporter, presenter and football, basketball and volleyball commentator. Daniel was awarded the distinction, Best TV Sports Reporter, by the Cameroon English Language Newspaper Publishers Association (CENPA) for his “insightful, sharp and professional TV reports” at the CRTV.
At UC Berkeley, Daniel is concentrating on narrative writing to have a depth in it, while taking multimedia skills get a grasp of digital experience.
