Caly Luna Plowman is a journalist who was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She moved to Santa Cruz in 2021, and has been doing reporting across the Bay Area since 2023.

Topics she has covered in the last few years include the 2023 No to APEC march in San Francisco, the 2024 Pajaro River Levee houseless encampment sweep and the 2024 UC Santa Cruz Gaza Solidarity Encampment and subsequent police raid.

Plowman is currently a student at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism pursuing the Narrative track, and is reporting on Oakland education.
