Anne Wernikoff
I’m a visual journalist based out of Berkeley, CA.
Born and raised outside of Boston, I moved to Washington, D.C. to study humanities at the George Washington University where I fell in love with photojournalism. I earned my B.A. in American Studies in 2011, and since then I’ve held positions as a photographer, photo editor and multimedia producer at Virginia Tech, The Hill, National Geographic Your Shot, and Yahoo! Sports.
The majority of my work has been photography-based, and I intend to continue with this medium but plan to expand my skill set in order to become a multimedia storyteller. After graduation, I hope to work primarily on long-term pieces that allow my subjects’ voices to tell their own story through mixed media elements including video, photo, audio, and animation. I’m especially interested in covering issues related to health, education, food and community.
