Ahamad Fuwad
Fuwad is a Jubilee Fellow at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism, specializing in documentary filmmaking. He has worked as a journalist in India and the United States for over 10 years, covering culture, foreign policy, politics and the South Asian Diaspora. His work has appeared in DNA, Oakland North, Press Insider, The Free Press Journal, The Guardian, The Oaklandside and The Quint, among others.
He started as a content writer for a local news publication, translating from Hindi to English, and rose to become the international editor at The Quint, one of India’s most respected independent digital publications. In 2023, he helped launch India’s first global policy publication, Press Insider, as its head of bureau.
At Berkeley Journalism School, he seeks to learn documentary filmmaking with an aspiration to use long-form video storytelling to cover the impact of majoritarian politics in India and the US.
