The War Tapes Special Full Screening and Panel Discussion

A work in progress screening of the first documentary war movie filmed by soldiers themselves, all members of a New Hampshire National Guard unit. The remarkable 90 minute film directed by Deborah Scranton, produced by Robert May (“The Fog of War”; “The Station Agent”) and Steve James (“Hoop Dreams”) and executive produced by Chuck Lacy will not officially premier until April at the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival.

The Sunday special full screening will be followed by a panel discussion with director Scranton, New Hampshire National guard Sgt. Steve Pink, California National Guard Lt. Robert C.J. Parry, and Los Angeles Times correspondent Rone Tempest.

Sgt. Pink was one of five “soldiers with cameras” in the film.

Lt. Parry recently authored a Los Angeles Times op-ed account of a year in Iraq with his star-crossed California National Guard battalion that suffered heavy causalities.
