THE CONTESTANT by Daniel AlarcÌ_n (RSVP by 12/3)

Daniel Alarcón is the author of “At Night We Walk in Circles,” a finalist for the 2014 PEN/Faulkner Award and executive producer of Radio Ambulante, a Spanish-language narrative journalism podcast. In 2010, Alarcón was named by The New Yorker as one of the best 20 Writers Under 40. He is a former fellow at the Investigative Reporting Program.

Daniel Alarcón will showcase a multimedia presentation of his story, “The Contestant,” which follows 19-year-old Ruth Thalía Sayas Sánchez after she appears on the popular Peru game show, “The Moment of Truth” (El Valor de la Verdad), and later disappears. “The Contestant” appeared in the new publication, California Sunday Magazine. Daniel will narrate the story.
