Social Justice & Social Empathy: Where Did They Go? How Can We Regain Them?

What does empathy have to do with inequality? Robert Reich, former United States secretary of labor in the Clinton administration and a distinguished visiting professor at UC-BerkeleyÌøåÀå_s Goldman School of Public Policy, will discuss how socio-economic inequality contributes to frayed social bonds and explain what we can do about it.

The UC-Berkeley Center for the Development of Peace and Well-Being is an interdisciplinary research center committed to promoting peace between individuals, within families, and across communities. It sponsors and disseminates scientific research into the nature of peaceful human interactions. The CenterÌøåÀå_s goal is to connect researchers and practitioners who are interested in helping people get along across differences. Because the Center is dedicated to building connections with the community beyond UC-Berkeley, it sponsors public symposia and lectures to encourage dialogue about the importance of promoting peaceful relationships in classrooms, families, and communities at large.
