SNARK: It’s Mean, It’s Personal, and It’s Ruining Our Conversation

David Denby, film critic for The New Yorker, and author of the just-released book, SNARK: It’s Mean, It’s Personal, and It’s Ruining Our Conversation, will sign and talk about his book with linguist and professor Geoff Nunberg of the I-School.

Snark is “a strain of nasty, knowing abuse spreading like pinkeye through the national conversation.” What’s snark? What’s wit? Who’s a snarker, who’s not? Spy magazine is snark? The Daily Show is not? Come hear the journalist who calls NY Times columnist Maureen Dowd “the most talented writer of snark in the country.”
