Former L.A. Times reporter, Victor Merina, was a member of the paper’s projects team and shared in the paper’s 1993 Pulitzer for spot news coverage of the 1992 L.A. riots. He has continued to contribute essays to the Los Angeles Times Sunday Opinion and Magazine sections. Merina, currently a senior fellow with the USC Annenberg’s Institute for Justice and Journalism, also works with the Poynter Institute for Media Studies and the Freedom Forum.
