A day about photobooks and photography with photographers and curators: April 12 at Berkeley’s International House
The Reva and David Logan Photobook Symposium brings together photographers, academics, students and collectors to celebrate the photographic book. The biennial event, which launched in 2017, is enabled by the 2013 endowment at UC Berkeley Journalism that funds exhibits in the Berkeley Journalism Gallery. The event is led and curated by Berkeley Journalism’s first Logan Professor of Photojournalism, documentary photographer Ken Light.
Featured photographers and curators include Richard Misrach, Mark Steinmetz, Philip Montgomery, Katy Grannan, Alex Webb, Rebecca Norris Webb, Kristine Potter, Nelson Chan, Bill Owens, Matt Eich, Ken Light, Lisa Sutcliffe, Kristine Hult Lewis and Shana Lopes.
The event complements the Logan Photo Book Collection at the Bancroft Library at UC Berkeley, which brought the late David Logan’s exceptional collection of photography books to the campus. See below information about an Open House at The Bancroft Library on April 11.
Tickets: $25 before April 1 and $35 after. Price includes all sessions and lunch.
