Journalism and Politics in the Corn Belt: Pulitzer prize-winning journalist Art Cullen in conversation with Michael Pollan

Art Cullen is editor of The Storm Lake Times, a family-run newspaper published in Storm Lake, Iowa (population 10, 076). In 2017, Cullen won a Pulitzer prize for his reporting on polluted water, fertilizer runoff, and powerful corporate agricultural interests. Just a few days before the Iowa Caucuses, Cullen and Pollan sat down together to discuss Trump and the farm vote; trade wars; journalism in rural America; immigration; agricultural consolidation and antitrust laws; regenerative agriculture; and the potential for farmers to sequester carbon and help curb climate change.
