George Packer, New Yorker Staff Writer

A talk by author George Packer, author of the new book, The Assassins’ Gate: America in Iraq.

He will discuss the Bush administration policies that created the current situation in Iraq and the effects of the war on domestic politics and American life. Packer has made four tours on assignment in Iraq for The New Yorker and won the Overseas Press Club Award in 2003 for his reporting. His previous books include Blood of the Liberals.
