Dr. Rozin’s cultural psychology interests include how people acquire likes and dislikes for foods, the cultural evolution of disgust, ambivalence to animal foods, and nature of cuisine. He has carried out research in the United States, France, Japan and India.
A member of the department of psychology at the University of Pennsylvania since 1963, Rozin earned a bachelor’s degree, Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Chicago and master’s and doctoral degrees from Harvard University. In 1997 he was named the Edmund J. and Louise W. Kahn Professor.
