Professor Donna DeCesare is an award winning author and documentary photographer who is perhaps best known for her documentation of gangs in Central America. Her most recent book of photography portrays the lives of children affected by civil war and gang violence.
DeCesare has received awards from the National Press Photographers Association among others, and most recently received the Maria Moors Cabot Prize from the Columbia Journalism School for her “outstanding reporting on Latin America.”
