Covering Private Companies and Non-Profits

A free one-day business journalism workshop will be held on Friday, Oct. 20, 2006. It is open not only to business journalists, but to journalists covering over beats who wish to learn more about business.

The “Covering Private Companies and Non-Profits” program covers critical areas such as regulatory filings, financial disclosure and gaining insight into how effectively companies and organizations are being run. Registration is required and closes one week prior to the workshop.

Presenters include Chris Roush, business journalism professor at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Matt Marshall of the San Jose Mercury News, Sarah Duxbury of the San Francisco Business Times, Jessi Hempel of BusinessWeek, Tony Conrad, CEO of Sphere and Andrew Leckey, director of the Reynolds Center.
