About the presenters:
Linjun Fan is a second-year student at UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism. She was a reporter for China’s National Television Broadcaster CCTV, and then a news researcher for the Beijing bureau of McClatchy Newspapers before joining the J-school last August. She wrote several blogs and columns for Reuters’ Beijing bureau during the summer, and also covered the 2008 Beijing Games.
Shipeng Guo is a first-year student at UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism. He worked for the Christian Science Monitor as a news
assistant from June 2004 – April 2005, and then joined Reuters’ Beijing bureau as a researcher for the political and general news team up till August 2008. He also covered the 2008 Beijing Games.
Liu Jianqiang was a Visiting Scholar at the J-school last year. He is a senior reporter for the Southern Weekend, China’s most influential
investigative newspaper, and one of the country’s best environmental
journalists. Liu won the SOPA (Society of Publishers in Asia) 2008 Award for Excellence in Reporting on the Environment. He is a columnist for the Chinese-English online environmental magazine www.chinadialogue.net.
