J219 On Camera and Voice Coaching – 5 weeks

Class meets: 2/21; 2/28; 3/7; 3/14; and 3/28 (Spring break is 3/21 – 3/25)

This is an intensive five-week mini course designed to develop on camera presentation skills for live and scripted newscasts. Vocal techniques and public speaking exercises will also prove relevant to radio and podcasting. We will cover best practices for oral pitching and reading news script, as well as live and on camera presentation skills. We will hear from local broadcast news reporters and professional practitioners. Students will report, write and produce audio or video stories of broadcast news variety, multimedia or film.
