J212 Podcasting for the Real World

This is a hands-on class dedicated to teaching three core skills:1) the art and business of starting up a podcast;2) the craft and editing sensibilities of creating powerful short-form audio for broadcast;3) the art of finding a great story and refining a story pitch for potential broadcast outlets.Students will work collaboratively on developing and publishing a series of podcasts. They will also refine their recording and reporting techniques and learn to scale down their stories to become short, effective features for public radio.
