J212 Podcasting for the Real World
This is a hands-on class dedicated to teaching three core skills:1) the art and business of starting up a podcast;2) the craft and editing sensibilities of creating powerful short-form audio for broadcast;3) the art of finding a great story and refining a story pitch for potential broadcast outlets.Students will work collaboratively on developing and publishing a series of podcasts. They will also refine their recording and reporting techniques and learn to scale down their stories to become short, effective features for public radio. Some features may be broadcast, and students will be paid by KQED-FM Radio for any used on air.
