J200 Reporting the News: Health and Environment – Section 001

Students in this class will learn how to report knowledgeably and skillfully on health, medicine, and the environment. We’ll learn how and where to find stories, how to access critical sources, and how to evaluate scientific claims no matter your scientific background. You’ll publish in Oakland North, Richmond Confidential, and other local and national outlets; we may also pitch a couple of packages to national outlets and publications.
