Directions to North Gate Hall:

North Gate Hall is located on the northern edge of the UC Berkeley campus, on the southeast corner of the intersection of Euclid and Hearst Avenues. As you enter the campus through the North Gate, the brown cedar-shingled building on your left is North Gate Hall.

Parking:

STREET PARKING

FREE & PAID:  If the Lower Hearst Parking Structure is full, there is street parking, both metered and unmetered depending on the block, but it's mostly 1-2 hours.

LOWER HEARST PARKING STRUCTURE

PAID & PERMIT ONLY:  The nearest parking garage is the Lower Hearst Structure, one block west of the School on the northeast corner of Hearst and Scenic avenues. To access the Lower Hearst Parking Structure, drive west (towards the bay) on Hearst Ave, turn right on Scenic Ave and then take the first right into the parking garage entrance labeled “Lower Hearst - Level 2.” The parking stalls on the eastern side are yellow or gold and where you can pay to park hourly (without a staff/faculty permit) using the yellow permit dispenser. ADA Parking:

ADA parking is located on Level 1 of the Lower Hearst Structure, one block west of the School on the northeast corner of Hearst and Scenic avenues. To enter this level, head west on Hearst Ave. (toward the Bay) and enter the Lower Hearst - Level 1 entrance directly from Hearst Ave in between Euclid and Scenic. Immediately turn left inside the garage to find ADA accessible parking. You must have and display a current state issued disability parking placard/license along with the day permit. Parking permits for a single day are available at campus parking permit vending dispensers.

We strongly recommend that visitors with a disability allow at least 30 minutes for parking.

North Gate Hall ADA Access:

There are three ADA accessible entry points to North Gate Hall branching off from Soule Road on the south side of the building (refer to diagram below):

  1. Entrance through the inner courtyard
  2. Backside entrance to general assignment classroom 105
  3. Access to Room B-1 up ramp along east side of North Gate Hall

It is also possible to drive up to the back entrance (south side of the building) going directly through the pillars of North Gate and turning left on Soule Road where there is a loading zone. Room 105 is immediately adjacent via an accessible ramp (noted as entrance #2 on the diagram) in order to drop someone off.

STEP-BY-STEP DIRECTIONS:

#1 - The ADA-accessible entrance to North Gate Hall is located in the inner courtyard. To reach this entrance, go to the south side of the building along Soule Road, and take the path at the farthest southeast corner into the courtyard. The ADA entrance is through the south-facing door. The courtyard ADA-accessible entrance is unlocked during business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and for special events.

#2 - For North Gate Hall's general assignment classroom, Room 105, take the same southeast ramp off Soule Road, using the B1 path that splits off to the east side of North Gate Hall. The backdoor entrance to 105 is on your left. Access to 105 is controlled by the UCB Registrar's Office.

#3 - For Room B-1, take the same southeast ramp off Soule Road, but instead of heading towards the courtyard, take the path splitting off to the east side of North Gate Hall. The ADA-accessible door on the east side of North Gate Hall is open during business hours.
