Mission Loc@l Community Workshop

UC Berkeley’s hyperlocal site Mission Loc@l held its first community video workshop on May 19th and 20th.
The sold-out workshop helped raise close to $1,000 for the website. The videos shot and edited during the class will be featured on the website.

Freshly pressed by the National Geographic Society, copies of Assistant Professor Richard Koci Hernandez’s book of mobile images have hit the shelves of Germany. Europe is the book’s first stop during it’s world tour.

Sacramento Press Club Scholarship Winners

Five J-Schoolers were awarded journalism scholarships from the Sacramento Press Club on Wednesday, May 23. Second years Adam Grossberg, Derek Lartaud, Casey Capachi and Rachel Waldholz all took home cash prizes. Titania Kumeh, who will start here in August, also received a scholarship.
