Preetika Rana is an award-winning reporter for The Wall Street Journal in San Francisco. She covers how technology is reshaping the way we eat, shop and travel, and writes about the power Silicon Valley leaders command in the U.S. and beyond.

Preetika’s features have chronicled everything from tech billionaires’ involvement in American politics to Uber’s CEO driving an Uber. She was the first to report a new CEO at Lyft, Uber’s landmark deal with taxis in NYC and Airbnb’s financials before the company went public.

Previously based in the WSJ’s Hong Kong and India offices, Preetika has reported from half a dozen Asian countries. She has covered war-torn Kashmir, earthquake-ravaged Nepal and exposed risky gene-editing experiments on patients from China. Her front-page stories spanning healthcare to human rights have helped shape government policy, aided investigations and triggered public outcry.
