J219 MINI: Aerial Photography (9/14 – 10/5)

The use of UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) such as “drones” in journalistic and documentary video storytelling is growing rapidly. Aerial videography is more time and cost-effective than ever before, and is a safe and simple way to boost production value. Shots which once required chartering helicopters or planes can be accomplished in a few minutes by experienced drone pilots using minimal equipment. As these cinematic techniques grow in popularity, audiences and producers alike are increasingly demanding aerial videography in content. As quadcopter technologies continue to advance and prices continue to fall, opportunities abound for licensed, experienced drone pilots. This course will help prepare students with the skills and knowledge they need to enter the market as commercial drone videographers.

Class starts on Sept 14 and ends on Oct 5. This class will also meet off site on some weeks to practice flying drones.
