Aysha Pettigrew
Aysha Pettigrew graduated from Reed College with a BA in religion with an emphasis on American history. Their undergraduate thesis, “Forging New American-Muslim Identities after 9/11,” examined how children and families form identities in the face of marginalization. At Reed, they worked as a reporter and editor at a biweekly campus news magazine. Before coming to the Investigative Reporting Program, Aysha worked as a legal assistant at a law firm in San Francisco, where they assisted clients with applications for asylum and researched religious persecution in South Asia. Outside of work, Aysha loves to travel, to knit, and to wander the aisles of a good bookstore.
